Lot's of change
The forms came off, the exterior has been water proofed. The plumbers came and roughed in the basement plumbing. Also, the drain pipe has been installed around the exterior of the basement as well as a radon remediation system under the slab on the interior of the basement. As of today all of the poured footers are completed, we still have block footers to lay.

Basement walls are poured
It took some time but we finally have basement walls. It took 6 concrete trucks which provided enough concrete to allow them to do a continuous pour. This prevents getting cold joints in the concrete. The concrete is poured to around 2" below the top of the form.
It took me a minute to figure out why this cavity was left in the wall but it is for the crawlspace access, our house is approximately 3/4 basement with 1/4 being above a crawl space.

Water meter is set
About 1 week ago I went to the Warren County Water District and signed up for new service. I paid and additional $400 to have a 1" line installed. The standard water line is 3/4" and the total cost for the meter and connection was $800. The bigger sized line will give us added pressure for the entire home. It took them only a couple of days to come and set the meter which now sits about 25' from the road in the center of our front yard.

Basement footers are done
We ended up digging an extra foot out of the basement to get to the desired grade. This was due largely in part to a change that came as a result of the septic system moving from the walk out side to the back yard.
Our basement guy takes a bit of an unconventional approach to the basement footers. He likes to frame up the footers using 2x10's which allows the french drain to sit below the footer allowing for better drainage. It makes sense to me, however, my father in law had never seen this done in his 40 years of building. It makes sense and provides the ideal location for the french drain to sit so we rolled with it.
Here you can see a closeup of the footer which reveals a channel down the middle of the footer, this will allow the concrete from the poured wall to form a good joint preventing water seeping under the poured wall.
