Our new home construction blog

After much prayer and turmoil Julie and I decided to buy a lot in a new development in Plano. The development is called Fairvue Farm. We purchased the lot about 1 month ago from Bennie Jones. The next step was to put our current house up for sale. I listed our home on Zillow and the very next day we were contacted by a young couple who wanted to come and see the house. We arranged for a showing that next Saturday. On Monday we received an offer and by Thursday we had settled on a price and had the house under contract. We will close on our current house July 21st, 2014. The Lord has been good to us.
We immediately applied for our building permit and $1003 and 5 days later we received it. We also had to have Landmark engineering out on the lot to plot the house plan and stake the lot. The next step was to have the contractor who is doing the basement (Wade Perry) come out and stake the lot showing all of the perimeter walls. This is a picture of the girls playing in their future play room!

The next step was to go to WRECC and apply for service to our new lot. The charge was $250 and this covers the cost of the line that will connect from the junction box to our house. It also covers the meter which they will use to charge me for their electricity :)
